We have rescued the original FAD lamp design, the FAD Fija.
Its hollowed cylindrical oak structure creates a vertical symmetry that gracefully supports a white linen shade.
In its four versions, the FAD and FAD Fija (floor lamp), and FAD and FAD Menor (table lamp), the cross-shaped legs that recall other classics by Miguel Milá share the same dimensions as the lower circumference of the shade.
It was originally designed for the headquarters of Barcelona's Fostering Arts and Design Association (FAD).
The FAD was founded in 1903 by a group of artisans and architects deeply concerned about the consequences of industrialization, and over the decades it has been a pioneering advocate for Spanish architecture and projective arts.
In terms of composition, Miguel Milá hit the mark with this expression of industrial craftsmanship that is as versatile as it is timeless.
